Jobs on campus

Accommodation Essex (Colchester Campus)

Accommodation Essex have temporary housekeeper/porter positions available starting in June. The term of the employment can be anything from two weeks to four months dependent on business needs.

They also employ Welcome Assistants during Arrivals Day. The role includes working within the student residences, meeting and greeting our new students and their families, answering general queries, signposting around campus, and conducting questionnaires.

Essex Food (Colchester Campus)

Essex Food is often looking for staff to carry out a variety of duties in restaurants and cafes on campus on an ‘as-and-when’ basis.

Event Essex

Event Essex employs conference team leaders and assistants. with good customer service, admin skills and campus knowledge. Roles are full-time, from mid-June to mid-September.

IT jobs

Digital Innovation and Technology Services hire IT Student Assistants (ITSAs). These can be technical or non-technical roles, including support for the IT Helpdesk, IT technicians, IT training, Media Centre, and project management.

Vacancies can occur throughout the year but are posted from July to September.

Student Ambassadors

Student Ambassadors are current University students, trained to represent the ºÚÁÏÍø across Recruitment, Outreach and Marketing activities. Being a Student Ambassador provides students with exciting opportunities to develop sought-after professional skills, work with an engaged target audience and make the most of their university experience.

Student Ambassadors will work in a diverse role on various events including those on campus, in schools and colleges and on virtual activities to promote the ºÚÁÏÍø and Higher Education (HE) more widely. Most events involve working with young people from ages 14-18 to raise awareness and aspirations regarding university, whilst encouraging students to consider applying to study at ºÚÁÏÍø.
